Our History
St. Tammany Cancer Fund began as a golf tournament in 2002 to honor the memory of Northshore businessman and developer Andy Goodyear who lost his life to cancer during the prior year. All proceeds from that event were donated to the American Cancer Society. The second tournament in 2003 was even more successful, and in 2004, a 501(c)3 nonprofit was formed, and now bears the name St. Tammany Cancer Fund. Each year since, the golf tournament has grown in size and scope, and when Andy's brother David also succumbed to cancer in 2009, the tournament was renamed for both gentlemen. The Annual Goodyear Memorial Golf Tournament is held each spring at Money Hill Golf and Country Club in Abita Springs, Louisiana, home of the Goodyear family. Proceeds from that event directly benefit cancer patients in the Northshore area.
